Album info:

Bay Area's indie/prog rock group Facing New York will deliver their highly anticipated debut album on August 30, 2005. Since forming in early 2004, they've gone on to play over 100 shows including 2 weeks on Vans Warped Tour 2004. Facing New York sold over 5000 copies of their self-released EP within a year. During last years Warped Tour, the band sold 200 CDs per day impressing not only music fans but many of the main stage acts that happened to catch their jaw dropping Warped Tour sets.

The album was produced and mixed by Facing New York and Scott Llamas. It was recorded in spring 2005 at PopSmear Studios in San Rafael and Hard Drive Studio in North Hollywood, CA. In order to duplicate the energy of their stage performance, the band recorded the most parts live in the studio. The album stands as a testament to the entire last year of their lives.

Press:

" Ahh the glamorous life of the working artist. So much in common with the freshly minted college grad: the world is your oyster, and the sea is yours to drown in. On their debut full-length, Bay Area boho-ruffians Facing New York score the quarter-life crisis with all the Baroque flourish of Vatican City on a cloudy day (think Dismemberment Plan meets Zep and the Police). Dense, dark, nervy, and at times downright sexy, this is music to drink absinthe, fuck, paint or cry to. Preferably, all at once.”  -Filter Magazine

“Facing New York' is an ethereal exploration of the human spirit." -MSNBC.COM

"This is the most original disc we've heard all year" -Alternative Press
