01. The Greatest
Album info: All State Champion is one of the best post-hardcore bands to come out of Canada. Since their inception in 1998, they have prided themselves with a stellar live show and thoughtful, intense songwriting from the influences of amazing music of the 80s & 90s, from Minor Threat to Jeff Buckley. After gaining national recognition in Canada, this Vancouver quartet are gearing up for the U.S. This self-titled EP is their first CD independently released in 2000
in Canada. It was recorded in 4 days at Big Midget Studio, frequented
by No Means No and legendary Close Caption Radio. After the release, they
played numerous shows with great bands such as Sunny Day Real Estate,
At The Drive In, Hot Hot Heat and established a solid fan base. The song
from the EP “The Greatest” charted on the national college
radio; a video for the song was released in early 2002, and along with
a feature interview gave the band national exposure in Canada. This EP,
their introduction to the U.S., will be followed by the debut full-length
album in February, 2004. |
