The fin. hits the U.S. with debut album and Japan Nite tour
To celebrate their debut album, Day’s With Uncertainty, Japan’s rising indie pop rock unit, The fin. is hitting the U.S. for the first time this spring. Formed in 2012 in Kobe, The fin. consists of Yuto Uchino on vocals and synthesizer, Ryosuke Odagaki on guitar, Takayasu Taguchi on bass and Kaoru Nakazawa on drums. Their sound often is described a cross between M83 and Phoenix, citing chill wave acts Toro Y Moi and Washed Out as influences. The band released a self-release EP, Glowing Red on the Shore in 2013 and was caught by the ears of Hip Land Music, the established Japanese label/management company, home of Lite. The EP was re-released in March 2014, and the promising band was invited to perform at major Japanese festivals like FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL, RISING SUN ROCK FESTIVAL, and VIVA LA ROCK.
The debut album, Day’s With Uncertainty was recorded and mixed by the singer, Yuto, and mastered by Joe Lambert (Animal Collective, Washed Out, Beach Fossils, Warpaint, Deerhunter). Facing everyday uncertainty with a positive attitude, their stylish sophisticated sound is rather confident and natural. Day’s With Uncertainty was released in December 2014 and critically acclaimed by the Japanese press.
